Tuesday, June 07, 2011 12:57 GMT

The disarmament did not only cover the armed factions, Al Khizaii affirmed that a number of tribes laid down weapons while others will disarm during the coming weeks, a source told Alsumaria.
Iraq’s National reconciliation minister criticized the formation of the national strategic policy council which he believes is a mine in the political process.
Armed factions’ disarmament comes in light of security deterioration and ongoing violations. Observers wonder about the efficiency of achieving reconciliation with factions that don’t seem to be influential on the Iraqi scene.

Maliki to evaluate Iraq Cabinet performance during 100 day deadline
Tuesday, June 07, 2011 11:29 GMT
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki called on Iraqi citizens to show tolerance during his evaluation to the government’s performance within the 100 day deadline, a source told Alsumaria.
In the regular session of Iraq’s ministerial council, Maliki said there will be a similar period that completes the first 100 day deadline.
Iraqi Ministers will display their achievements and future plans starting today, Maliki noted.
The most important thing a minister or an official can offer in service of the people, is to follow up his work in the field.
Starting today, meetings will be held in front of the people. Discussions will cover all fields one by one. We will go over three headlines or three ministers. We must realize the framework upon which we will carry on with the second 100 day deadline, Maliki said.
Cabinet spokesman Ali Al Dabbagh on the other hand announced that the 100 day deadline will not be extended. This deadline has triggered political action in the country, he concluded.
